A Quality Assurance Assistant to work in our Quality Department and be a part of our Quality Team. This position will be based in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the primary purpose of this position is to provide support and ensure all documentation, paperwork, and internal quality assurance is being completed.

Key responsibilities will include:

Assist in Developing Corey Nutrition’s Quality Program

• Review and update Corey Nutrition Standard operating procedures (SOPs) and associated forms.

• Ensures and enforces Good Documentation Practices on all applicable documents relating to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point System (HACCP), Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) and Quality Management System (QMS).

• Ensures and monitors adherence to all facility SOPs relating to current GMPs and other applicable regulations, including but not limited to HACCP, BAP, QMS.

Regulatory and Audits

• Participation in food safety and quality system audits, both internal and third party.

Internal Quality assurance and control of incoming ingredients and finished product

• Assist in customer enquiries by performing the appropriate laboratory tests and preparing appropriate information

• Prepare third party testing samples, including paperwork

• Conduct NIR testing, mycotoxins and water activity analysis of incoming ingredients

• Conduct internal product quality tests per lot as the Corey tech quality program using the Near Infrared Spectroscopy machine, Water activity meter and moisture analyser.

• Maintain Sanitation and Cleaning program by conducting weekly QA Inspections in the Plant and adjusting Sanitation Checklists

• Any other duties as requested by supervisor

Qualifications: Minimum

Demonstrated experience in writing and working with documentation is required

• An aptitude for multi-tasking and working effectively in a dynamically changing environment

• Exercise attention to detail, take pride in their work, and an aptitude for continuous improvement

• College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or other relevant discipline or experience equivalent.

• Experience in a food environment and working on previous food safety/quality management programs is considered an asset.

• Knowledge of GMPs, BAP, HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and/or CFIA/FDA regulations is considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to stand for periods of time.
