Position Summary:

We currently have an opening for an Accounting Clerk to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will be part of the accounting and logistics team. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to work efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Process and verify a high volume of incoming freight invoices accurately and efficiently

  • Identify and resolve billing discrepancies with shipping companies

  • Process customer invoices and credits

  • Back up for reception, including answering phones and assisting customers

  • Compile monthly statements for all company credit cards

  • Filing and administrative tasks

  • Support team members in various projects and tasks

  • Other duties and projects as required by the Controller

Attributes

  • Post secondary education in bookkeeping or accounting preferred. High school diploma required

  • Minimum 1-year experience in accounting

  • Solid work ethic

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills

  • Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills

  • Time management skills including the ability to manage deadlines and determine priority

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficient with accounting programs such as Syspro

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Works well in a fast-paced environment

  • Written and spoken competence in English is required
